Conceptualising the kind of shoots I want to do!

For many years, I wished that clients would call me with an idea for a shoot that wasn’t the norm.

Don’t get me wrong, I love outdoor family shoots, but I had been longing for a bit more creativity.

Well, 12 years passed and I can count on one hand how many people have called saying they want something outside of the norm.

I’ve decided I’m going to make it happen for myself.

I don’t know what has happened, but it’s like a switch went off in my brain and I’ve decided to stop waiting for things to happen in my life and just make them happen. I think it’s the excitement of jumping back into work and reviving the love and passion that I have for photography.

SO!

I’ve had so many ideas for shoots over the 12 years and I’m going to be bringing them to life.

The first of which is the j’ouvert shoot that I had planned.

I had to reschedule that to later in April and I seriously cannot wait to get those photos done.

I also have a very talented videographer coming to that shoot to get behind the scenes shots and I can only imagine them now with the powder flying in the evening sunlight! It’s going to be incredible!

I took some of my daughter as she is my guinea pig for very shoot idea that I have.

Talking about my guinea pig,

I had an idea for another shoot- more stylized, studio set up.

I wanted very vibrant, fun, summer vibes.

As soon as I had the idea, I hopped on Amazon and quickly ordered everything I needed.

I got the package yesterday afternoon and couldn’t prepare the set up to the full extent as the sun was starting to go down and I had very limited time.

I think we still pulled off some really cute shots though.
